There Are No Fairy Tales

so maybe I'm not the man of your dreams
but then you do know fairy tales
had their divorce from reality
long before you or I were born into this world
the same one that laughs at us because we are
so quaintly devoted to one another
while secretly envious of the
happiness we still find in each other's arms
long before we bound our hearts
over for the trial you think you can't cope with
there were people who never had the leisure
to explore what we think is our birthright
this endless cycle of doubt
well, here is a thought for you -
you cannot possibly know you have faith in something
or someONE until that faith is put to the test
this is only a test
what will you do when the real trials appear?
