Sitting here at my desk I think of going home Of slumber clouds that fill my room My bed of thickest foam My tiger sheets and leopard throws Upon my fluffy bed My plump filled downy pillow shams Where I will lay my head The room is dark as it can be Black drapes so sleek and tall The Lion roars from painted frame That hangs upon my wall A cheetah stalks the jungle frame With stealth and cunning charm The figurines upon my shelf Sharp teeth that seek no harm Dark elephant of leather shape Upon a leopard skin Protects my black alarm clock From predators within Gazelles, giraffee and zebra too Run free above the drawers That hide my lingerie of black My treasures from the stores I sigh a sigh of yearning thought To lie upon my bed With visions of Safari theme That all surrounds my head The quilt so thick and soft to touch It drapes down to the floor The comforter of black and tan From JC Penney's store Ebony board that holds the rails A touch of gold it trims Walls are bathed in Burro beige Exotic animal skins Music playing soft and low Melodies fill my mind Now the beat begins to throb Its Jungle Love you'll find So here I sit, at my desk Desiring to be at home To float and drift in peaceful sleep On my bed of thickest foam I love my room, I love my bed This fact is surely true The only thing that I'd like more Is Coming home to you. ~ |
