There is a song in my heart but not on my lips Again and again I tell myself to be silent until the night comes. Then I can release myself as they sleep. My pulse races, my breath catches as a swee song of love fills the air. My lover's voice. You and I are along in the universe. Gently you reach out and pull me into your embrace. You whisper my name. I can't help but laugh as your breath caresses my ear. I don't care who hears; You are my soul mate, confidante, lover. My! How handsome, how wise, how warm are his eyes. When, when, when will we be free and safe to rest in each other's arms? They say I am too young too precoucious too inexperienced. A deep voice cuts through the air! I must hurry but first a kiss, a long kiss. You bring me to my knees, my handsome one! You leaves and my spirit follows after. I return to my room to wail hope pine ache and finally to sleep. To dream of fields of laughter and feather kisses. |
