Homesick My heart yearns for a place I Have only been once Yet in my mind I venture there a million times I long to swim in the deep blue Run through the sugar cane fields Sand caressing my toes See the lava from Kiluwa flow Feeling the sun on my face I embrace the scent of the tropical breeze, I know now This is all I will ever need So far away Yet it stays in my heart, I was born on da mainland, yes It's true But Hawai'i, my heart belongs to u I am a child of the islands Part of the Polynesians To be among my Ohana Know the aloha spirit with my own eyes My own hands, my heart Embrace those who open to me with their arms with welcome in the hearts This is the land that I love.
