The power of words is understated Their manipulative control is underrated. Words embraced like a delicate dove Can cause the other to fall in love. They have the power to hypnotize To lead a lover through blinded eyes. They can heal and soothe the soul The strongest feelings you'll ever know. Chase a darkened, dismal day Replaced with light, by the words we say. They can ignite a forest fire Start volcanic, eruptive, flowing desire. When molded and melded with artful ply Can cause a lover to painfully cry. Phrases can flow, beneath the skin intoxicate you, till addiction begins. Bring anger and hatred to sinful seething Boil the blood past wounded bleeding. Make you dance and make you sing Or burn you like a hornet's sting. Words have great power, there's no denying Persuasively powerful and mesmerizing. Choose them carefully, for what you say Can charm your reader or drive them away. ~ |
