Meeting guys on the internet has been So frustrating, disappointing, and annoying. I thought it was fun at first. So much fun... so exciting.... Until I became meat on a hook. Guys jumping out at me on the Instant messenger ten, twelve, fourteen at a time I, being too polite... tried to answer them all. They want to meet right away. Don't want to take time to get to know each other. They often want my measurements before talking I learned to steer clear of them Some were honest about their lustful motivations Others hid it beneath poetry and fancy words Still others hid the fact that they were married or already in serious relationships They lied about the marital status, their age, their professions, and much much more. When I was not ready to jump into a meeting They would get angry and nasty. Some would give me a little time to know them first, but most would accuse me of being a game player If I wanted more time. They were in a big hurry... I couldn't understand. Although, I was not looking for a serious relationship as I was enjoying my newly found freedom I did not want to be used or mistreated nor passed around like marijuana at woodstock And then there were those whose words and actions deserved academy awards for best actor of the century. In the beginning I bought their words and believed them at face value Boy, did I get hurt.... Guys offering me keys to their place. Offering their hearts on a plate Proposals of marriage on our first date One guy opened a very old bottle of wine that he said he was saving for his soul mate For the one, who he was going to grow old with I begged him not to open the wine He poured it in deceit. I drank it in innocence complete The relationship was over, before it began And so this scenario repeated itself many times. Until, I began to get smart and learn my lessons. I had guys that dumped me on a first date When it became obvious that they were not going to score immediately..... They felt I was not worth the time it was going to take to get me into bed. Many started out with sweet words which turned pornographic within a few hours or less..... The internet is a fun place for people who want fast, easy sex.... with little or no cost. Possibly a dinner or movie out..... But for those looking for a soul-mate Or a relationship with substance It can be quite frustrating to say the least. But soul-mates and wonderful lovers are there. You just got to be cautious, careful and discrimating. And not let people force you into anything or push you around.... I have found several very wonderful relationships Thru the internet. And I guess it was worth all the hurt and pain That I got from internet love - in between finding them. Among the weeds, lies some beautiful lilies, just waiting to be found and picked.... - |
