It's a freaking game but the rules are never same I've gotten hurt before when playing. Competed against bigger guys with a better swing. Scored some. Lost a lot. Taken a few for the team. Mostly I'm the RBI man. I've caught a few but I'm not good on the outfield. If I missed catching them when I had a chance. I don't chase them down too well. They say I don't want it bad enough. I say I just haven't seen enough worth diving for. Some games I'm happy just on the plate some games I knock one out of the park Some games I get tired of playing and pitcher. Other games I'm waiting to be walked to first and sweating myself over stealing a base warily reading the picture's face. some days I feel it's bases loaded and if I don't get it right I've totally blown it. Some days I know I'll never hit those curves so I bunt, run, and slide but the crowd is watching there's nowhere to hide in outings to innings I get called out before I've known what this girl is about. From the minute they call me on the phone I'm valiantly trying to get to home. Though they never forget the look on my face when I'm ecstatic about just reaching third base. The thing about women is that They got game plans and strategies and grand designs. Usually I can't read the signals and signs. They got decoys, indicators, activators and wipe offs. Coach says READ - PAUSE - REACT. I try hard but then again I'm not a player And I probably need a hell of a lot more games before I'd reach the baseball hall of fame And it's not that I'm a wanna be I'm a rookie that wants to be her MVP. I been told there's one thing I gotta understand about women if you're in the game she ain't thinking about baseball diamonds. Hmm... Two strikes, two balls and how about that? She's reaching for my baseball bat! |
