Alone again for what seemed like the millionth time, she wanted ice cream. Deciding she needed chocolate SYRUP to complete her mood healing meal, she dressed in flannel pants and a tank top. Jogging to the 24-hour grocer at the PLAZA by her home. She walked into the store, captured by the LUSTER of those sapphire eyes. Followed soon after by his CONTAGIOUS, heartwarming smile. He was her idea of a good guy, someone who wouldn't put her down, who wouldn't hit her the way her ex had. He was the kind of guy who would fluster her so, that she would lose her TRAIN of thought. A week ago, she'd come in to get a quart of milk, when he'd asked if she would SCRAWL her name and number on the inside cover of the FICTION novel he was reading. She'd gladly obliged him, overly happy he'd noticed her the way she'd noticed him. Tonight was different, he saw her first, putting down a box of canned lima beans that he'd been stocking as she walked up to him. He noticed she was not her usual happy self, and proceeded to tell her that she'd perfected the way to best EMULATE a truly lonely person. She smiled and laughed because he was right. Then he truly suprised her, fully introducing himself, "Hi, my name is Robby Norris, I get off in ten minutes. What do you say, we go back to the place where you RESIDE and cuddle up under a BLANKET?" needless to say she said yes. |
