I saw the knife
glistening
in your eyes
the metal brightening
what my heart could
not
and I knew you were capable
of using it
taking it and jabbing
every inch of skin
that glowed for you
but I ignored
the sharpness
in those eyes
fooled by the facade
i had come to make reality
and you cut the life
of this love
leaving it to drip
