A blossom held tight in it's bud the tension when we met it opened slowly with each smile, each touch, each kiss a petal unfurled until what we held was immense, magnificent, richly shaded. We gorged on the color and spectacle of our love, and selfishly we broke it free from it's foundation so that we could hold it all the time and in binding together we choked the growth. Slowly, from neglect the rose began to lose it's color it's vibrance, and the petals fell one by one until the bloom, and we were done. |
