well, girl, we're 29 now and I don't know about you but sometimes I feel closer to 80 still...I can vividly recall when we were two crazy kids at Kidwell Elementary worshipping Tanya Tucker making fun of the girl who wanted to be Miss America "Miss America is FAKE! Tanya Tucker is REAL!" you and your friends took me behind a tree where no one else could see and taught me how to do that stupid scissors exercise thing we had to do in P.E. my feet were always doing the wrong thing but you knew how to dance even in second grade I envied your natural coolness your funny as hell Sagittarian personality your ability to endear yourself to everyone around you and you were always brown and skinny and I was always white with a pot belly still...the class clown proposed marriage to me (remember Jeremy Kinkaide?) A.J. flipped a coin to see who the lucky lady would be and I lost him to you so I got Jeremy we were going to steal our parents' cars and road trip to Gilley's in Pasadena drink Lone Star beer and ride the mechanical bull oh, god I miss that silliness thinking we had all the freedom and time in the world to dance our way into every heart that stumbled across our path we were beautiful because we believed it we shone we sparkled we gleamed we dreamed two chica locas in the makin' not caring that no one was blessing us with any clues. |
