"Nightingale" Your mellifluous tones lay my eyelids low. To that thankfully sought blackness. I envision your creamy skin surrounding me And what before that was two remains one. That intoxicating scent waits at my threshold Like a patient stream slowly eroding away The subliminal and rushing me to the sublime. You find me even in the darkness of my slumber My most hallowed of retreats made more perfect In your presence. So much so that I dread returning To the bitter reality of time and tedium. I beg for Timelessness, but more so I plead for you: your warmth Your touch, your body coupled to mine in an irrevocable bond. Yet my mind does what so wholeheartedly I wished to prevent, As reality forces its way back into my scope I struggle to recall... But Nirvana is routed banished by the cruel sun of wakefulness. |
