Hearts. I collect them. Jewelry.. boxes..nic-nacs. trying to replace the one that gave me away trying to replace the one that God took away The first heart gave me life The second one helped me through it. I never really knew the first heart but she is there just the same She is there in the faces of my children The second heart knew me, called me her own She did not stay with us long enough She never got to know her grandchildren they are both in my heart one gave me life the other taught me love Maybe the hearts I collect help me fill the emptiness of my own. |
