Dear Brian, You came, you saw, and yes you passed me up. Now I'm left resigned to this sharp lack of us. But I want you to know that you've just been so great...about it all, really. With your soft grey-blue eyes you let me down easy. I'll try not to wonder about me and you. Whether a couple more months or a change of address might have found us together. And I do think it's best if I don't pretend your 'see you later' meant anything other than goodbye. I admit I thought this would sting less than it has, but 8 days fresh and it's already dulled a bit. When I run the whole thing over in my head I see things quite clearly and I only have this to confess...in the end, your 'no' was sweeter than any other's 'yes'. With affection, Kendra |
