In the simmer of the sea words tend to fail. No matter how foreign and far, it is the same sad tale. That I look for You in all I witness. In every nameless woman and every hidden mistress. In the break of the mid-Atlantic waves; there, there exist memories of You my vagrant heart saves. I wish You would return like the tide to the night. As the sea to the shore. I pray sometimes You just might. It is a dream my love insists and foretells; only to depend on wishing wells. It's been so long since I've looked in those eyes. So many sunsets, so many silver-lined skies. I cannot even remember what was more captivating; was it your benevolent smile, or those angelic eyes? In sleepy sanctuary I ask myself, risking the strength of the heart and all of it's wealth; Do I dare dream again? For now I find the fate of an open heart is grim. |
