at the altar

i built an altar
to worship your eyes.
i reveled in the delicious Torture of
their Intensity.
so big and brown, they
Devoured me.
You
devoured me,
sucked me right into your
Big Brown world.

and i will never recover from your kisses,
so full of desire...
so gentle and innocent,
so hungry and searching.
little did i know you were searching
for my soul.

it all happened so fast.
but when i looked down,
i found a hole in my chest
where you snatched my heart right out
and put it in your pocket...
never to be returned.

sometimes,
i still feed that fire
at the altar...
searching for my stolen heart.
