I admire, and wait

Roses fair, in morning light
wear raindrops
feel the cool air of a new day
beauty on the stem
In the song of green new life
find rosebuds
find scarlet immortal to the eye
the start of truth
to the watchers on the lawn
show blushes
red life suffusing pale skin
for others
I see the flower within
red life unashamed
the truth of the heart
held close inside
tight petals hold her
safe and hard
tomorrow to bloom forth
but not today
the spring day sun warms all
rosebuds wait
tomorrow to bloom forth
I admire, and wait
