I EAT STONE

I eat stone
and spit it out
as though you are nothing at all

You once told me
I would never trust again
after you

The years have passed
to this day
I still find your words are true

Others have come and gone
in time
with my touch
their hearts turned to stone

They pay the price
of what you've done
while I collect their dues


Your heart of stone will bleed someday
with it I will quench my thirst
to find my peace
and love again
all without fear

But until that day
no amends be made
as
I eat stone
