There once was a lady in waiting Who lurked and watched people dating Online in chat rooms She watched love as it blooms Never knowing a friend she'd be dating He messaged her with his lame plea Won't you please take a minute for me? They chatted for hours While she tended her flowers Never thinking that they'd good friends be Then months passed and there they still were Talking nicely of him and of her And suddenly she Said in Paris we'll be Dancing naked in winter and BRRRRRRR They remain good friends to this day Though they've never actually hit the hay They talk and they share Of the hearts that they wear On their sleeves for others to slay One night in their dreams as they sleep Paris comes and they must make the leap Forsaking all others Like sister and brother They must promise their trust and love keep Clandestinely they finally meet For coffee, and buns they will eat Though they share no paternity Lady's ingrained maternity Makes her love him for poems so sweet Alas , the daydream must end And they ultimately wind up as friends The coffee was great But there'd be no more date For their hearts were too broken to mend |
