So close for so long. Then he takes a leave of absence. His heart flies away. His smile disappear into the dust. Warm embraces fade into the horizon. All the words of endearment dissolve into nothingness. Sweet lips and kisses are but a dream of long ago. Like cotton candy that was left out on a warm and damp day until the mist turns into drizzle that slow pitter pattern of early rain trickling slowly then faster until the downpour snuffs out that pink fluff and all that's left is a hardened mass of sugar that even the passing dogs turn their noses at. . |
