I am narrow In the Ways of the world, Asleep against The backdrop of a heart, But the biding time has passed, As this courage has been Reproved. I have singled out One solitary drop of Silence, Simply so I may know its sound, Which follows in the wake of my Waring heart. We have no time For trivailities, no moments set aside For that of rest, or sanctuary, No distilled water of Believing-- You only may take with you What cannot be carried. Put down your Cross, And follow in a Leap of Faith, Beyond the time where Truth Stands still, and where wisdom bows low To that which exists only in the Dreams Of unreason--do not doubt these meanings, Inscribed upon the surface of the wind-- Such is my way, and the ways of the Heart I know and hold. But what remaining here is yours? Can you claim a single moment, Or have you dared to let each one Pass you quietly by? Have I ever truly been bound to you, And will I ever be so, once and again? |
