Capturing a Moment The rain poured against the glass The flag waved in the cold winter air As streetlights flooded the room And cast over us dark shadows of the night Suddenly in the moment I captured her Gentle and soft from her life's journey Sleeping quietly amidst nature's clamor Resting her thoughts on pillows and dreams Her breath spoke out in somber tones Of triumph and pain always surrounded By the mystery she brought along the way Of who she really was and how to find her Parting lips laced with intrigue and desire Announced her presence to those who could wait Waiting for the touch of her smile Like the silent kiss of morning frost Knocking on the windowpane Bells ring the alarm of life's wakeup call And she rises with haste Her cup is again full of ambition blind and focussed As she slips the noose of my capture In the flash of a moment |
