to live

i miss the reasons to go
outside in dead of winter
hating the deep bite of cold
wishing to be inside

i want to be forced to run
till winded and aching
thigh muscles pulsing
wanting to catch my breath

i wish for solitary nights of tears
insecurities and fears
racing through my muddled mind
yearning for a distant life

i miss suffering
and pain
the longing to live
and live again
