With hints of subterfuge

Exotic sky blues
How I'm missing you
A cute little sandpiper groove
Bird walk smooth
With pelicans flying formation
Cloud nine high
Splat
Pelican pie
The sandcastle news
I'm a mermaid
With a sunburned tail
Trying to catch a whale
With kite string
And a safety pin
I'll keep trying
To reel him in
With an optimists grin
Doing the bird walk
What where when
To see just why
That rugged grin
Has always been
So hypnotizing
