I married him
I needed the validation
that I was love-able
that someone could want
only me.

I left him
to avoid the
suffocation
of my spirit
because I couldn't
be love-able
if I couldn't be me
and he didn't want me
he wanted a changed me
that I couldn't be.

and now there is no me.
