Zen Buddhism
makes you the
wise one.

You tell me
the story of the monk
who carried the woman
across the river
and set her down
on the other side
while the other monk
carried her
for much longer.

In your mind
I am the second monk
the one who cannot let go
but you don’t know
that you talk
in your sleep.
