  I waited for you,
   floating desperately through your oceans of promise.
  Believing with everything that you wanted me again as
  much as I did you.
And that night we spoke to each other
  with silk softened words still echoes so clearly
  in the pillows of my mind.

Those words meant everything to me,
  and I wish you would call to me again
  and tell me they were real,
that they weren't just things said to tear my clingy
  clothes off and feast upon the heat of my naked flesh.

You spoke so often of that flesh
  of how it swelled in the color of your eyes
  of how my eyes seduced you,
  but I never gave in
  and never shall.

  Because still today something tells me those words
   were empty spaces filled with nothing
   not even air
   and that your heart belongs solely to one.
