I see life laugh around me
And it looks to me to join in
As I usually do, as I always do
But I can't find it in me anymore.

I want the world to stop.
I want to sit in a room with you
Until you look at me and say go on
Home.  I am here and I am fine.

And I waited.  For two nights
And three days.  And then I
Had to come home without your words
Just your eyes.  Not looking at me.

I want the world to stop.  
The laughter to stop.  The smiling
To stop.  How can they smile?
When you are not?
