Rapids

swift
boiling current
white water rush
hurtling us
through the rapids
the narrow channeled
ravine
rock walls cut
through layers, ages
in this headlong journey
we are exhilarated
and endangered
expended and
expanded

everything is a metaphor
for time
and us
