Listen Hear me my son To my tales The story of my life Before you were born When I was still young I met a man He was old and tall He stood beneath a tree As old as the moon Its leaves were gone Its branches were twisted And had died in the sun And he looked very sad He was very frail And leaned on the trunk But there was life It shone in his eyes They sparkled like the stars And showed me secrets Things I dreamed of My own thoughts That I hid from everyone But he knew He knew the fire I kept deep inside And my loss He told me it was ok The world pushed me down But he taught me how to dream He taught me how to fly Beyond this sky and clouds Beyond this earth To the moon I flew And I met a little lion Of Mare Insularum On an island in the sea He was strong But he was kind And he taught me to see The magic of the stars And the tales they weave The lives that they have led The places they have shone And we rode on their breeze To the forests of Tycho Where the trees wove And whispered in the the wind About life and love Then together they sang a song While the deer danced too To the beat of the falling leaves And the leaves were like prisms Refracting the sun's beams And the forest filled with color Of red and purple Of blue and green And they floated on a wind That blew from the east I chased them down Out of the forest Over the mountains Capped with dusty snow To the sea of Crisium Where the leaves fell From an icy cliff Down into the waters below To the darkness there The colors went under And my tears fell and froze And cracked the ground And so I ran away Away from the sea I ran until I found my way And found myself here But this you must know That you are my dreams You hold more beauty Than the moon and earth And my love for you Is greater than the oceans You are my life You are what I have become Do not let this world crush you But fly away beyond the stars Listen to their song Love is here I will wait for you there Listen |
