Walking down my dimly lit sidewalk, way past midnight. It stretches out in front of me forever, a portal of tress and hedges, fading straight on and on and on, into endlessness a tunnel vision I walk, through pheromone tow away zones and stray cat alleys, towards my bedroom. A grey silhouette is approaching out of my tunnel , walking a bicycle... He is far away, in ebbing light, growing slowly .. my feet plod along my pavement, as this stranger closes in, closer, then closer . Now I hear, he sings a quiet song, while pushing his bike, along, with a basket of, belongings, and I can feel that he, is afraid of, who I might be, alone on our darkly lit, endless path, passing by, way past midnight. |
