It is when the sun starts going down That the flowers smile fire. The periwinkles and the mint Fight over who gets to Take possession of the pot The herbs stand tall and proud Ready to be cut and chopped I smell them taking their cue Marigolds do their shiny stinky best To keep those pesky mosquitoes away Daylily's are jazzy lace swaying while Petunias create their own flag to wave The frogs are smiling cause it is Almost time to rock and roll I am standing here grinning Photographing the entire view.
