A toast to conservatives This is the exact reason why I keep myself away from them It's not because I'm closed minded It's because my openness scares them away from me I believe in God I resent the statement that my liberalism isolates God How is it wrong to sympathize with people for being people people come in all shapes, sizes, nationalities, and sexual orientations Who am I to judge you? God created us to enhance human kindness not to completely bash those who don't share our beliefs What ever happened to judge not lest ye be judged Don't tell me that I'm awesome, wonderful and cool if you don't mean it Forget smiling at me, and telling me i'm beautiful and that I'm different and then in the same breath condemning me as a sinner Who are you and where do you get off? I am awesome, i am wonderful, and i am DEFINITELY a christian another issue: don't condemn the rights of desperate women who sometimes have to undertake desperate measures to condemn abortion as a way of the unholy is entirely unfair what ever happened to walking a mile in someone's shoes before judging them? don't tell me what to think, what to feel, what to believe You can in no way say that you are a better christian than me you were wrong, admit it, but don't punish me for saving you from yourself Don't explain to me that true Christians are so few and so far between that you must light a path for me instead pray for someone, not condemn them You are so confused and so muffled, that maybe your voice will be blocked by your ignorance You aren't the voice of God, so don't proclaim to be This is a toast to all the conservatives who make light of my beliefs and chastise me for not agreeing with them congratulations on alienating those who you need to join your cause I would gladly sit elbow to elbow with you and discuss my views openly and openly listen to your views Instead you wish to separate yourself from me which shows not only your ignorance, but your total lack of regard for the human situation Smile-because you think that you know so much more than I do but instead, I smile because I realize that people don't take what you say seriously What kind of message do you give when you blow up abortion clinics? when you 'bomb the hell' out of an enemy, yet talk about kindness to fellow man when you 'fry the criminal' to prove that innocent people have been harmed or when you 'banish homosexuals' to prove that sex is holy, and sacred Let me ask you: Have you seen the face of a child who isn't wanted? Have you tasted the hunger of a child who can't be cared for or whose parents don't love each other so they take it out on this child or have you witnessed the life of a child who is the product of rape or incest? Have you seen the scared faces of the enemy's children? Have you wondered what it would be like to have no food, no hope, no money? the terror that this poor child must feel towards americans yet we preach how much we love our country, what about other people? have you seen the destruction that the death penalty gives how it affects the victims families even after the killer is dead have you seen the killers family filled with sadness for the loss an eye for an eye..what happens when we lose both of ours? aren't homosexuals not people? who would choose the life of homosexuality..to be condemned by their fellow man? do you know what its like to be homosexual? i don't think you do, but you seem to know so much what reward is offered to you for hurting the feelings of your fellow human what do you hope to gain by only allowing those who agree with you directly access to your heart and mind this is a toast to all the conservatives for the void that will be empty for the great mind of another will be absent from their life experience |
